What is the Difference between Morpheus8 and FaceTite?

There are so many different types of facial treatments available - particularly over the past couple of years.

You can pretty much find a med spa treatment for just about anything, and they keep getting better. For example, treatments like Morpheus8 are safer, more effective, and cover a broader spectrum of possibilities than in the past decade. Yet, the more treatments that become available, the more confusing it can get, particularly when looking for anti-aging, skin-tightening treatments. Two of the most effective and popular – Morpheus8 and FaceTite – are made by the same company – InMode. We get asked all the time about the pros, cons, and differences between the two treatments.

It is important to stay informed about treatments that are being touted in social media, the news, and among friends. Everyone’s skin is different, so it is never a good idea to go along with the pack. It’s an avoidable mistake! Do not sign up for treatments that won’t get the desired results you want. It’s also easy to get talked into treatments that you don’t really need. Everyone knows that skin care treatments can be a little pricy, so it’s wise to understand the pros and cons of each treatment you are considering.

Today we want to give you insights into two popular med spa treatments we frequently get asked about – Morpheus8 and FaceTite.

What Is a Morpheus8 Treatment?

Morpheus8 is an FDA-approved, advanced skin resurfacing, tightening, and remodeling treatment. The procedure combines microneedling with radiofrequency energy and is delivered to the skin via tiny microneedling pricks, stimulating collagen production to tighten and smooth wrinkles in the face and body. It can improve a wide range of skin issues, such as texture, acne, hyperpigmentation, fine lines, wrinkles, and saggy skin.

It is considered non-invasive, so there is little downtime. Two-to-four treatments spaced out about four-to-six weeks apart are ideal for the best results. The skin-tightening results can last anywhere between two to five years.

What is a FaceTite Treatment?

FaceTite is a cosmetic procedure that targets sagging skin and wrinkles that are most visible on the lower side of the face. It is considered an alternative to a traditional facelift. It is minimally invasive and uses RFAL to help suction out fatty tissues while stimulating collagen production. Small incisions are made so the small device can be inserted to deliver radiofrequency waves that liquefy fat cells.

The liquified fat is suctioned out with a separate tube while the radiofrequency of the treatment work to stimulate collagen fibers that are beneath the skin. It is considered a non-invasive procedure, but it is recommended to take one or two days to heal. Results may be seen within a few months and are designed to last for a few years after only one treatment.

The differences:

FaceTite is internal, and Morpheus8 is external. Both use radiofrequency technology, but the process and treatment tools differ entirely.
After a Morpheus8 treatment, you feel like you have a moderate sunburn. Crusting and peeling of the skin should be expected for around three or more days post-treatment. Moisturizer is a must until the skin heals, and makeup can be applied around two days after the treatment. Sunscreen is a must!

After a FaceTite treatment, you will need a ride home and someone to look after you for the first 24 hours. You will want to rest and recover so you can heal as quickly as possible. Do not rub your face until it has healed; avoid facial products such as retinol and acids immediately after the procedure. No smoking or drinking, as they will delay healing and increase the chances of possible complications.

Which treatment is best for my skin?

Of course, our recommendations would depend on your skin and concerns.

The quick answer, in a nutshell, is that if you are looking for overall skin rejuvenation, your best treatment will be Morpheus8. It will treat uneven skin texture that we experience as we age. Depending on the severity, old acne scars or dark spots can be reduced or eliminated. FaceTite is considered semi-invasive and very effective if you are primarily interested in focusing on skin tightening and tissue shrinking.

We recommend starting with Morpheus8 as an excellent primer if you’re considering surgical options, such as a facelift. FaceTite would be a second procedure for some, but many would not likely want or need to do both.

Both treatments will provide subtle yet pleasant results. It all depends on your immediate goals, expectations, time, and budget!
